After training as an illustrator and spending twenty years in the film and TV industry as a Creative Director, Kat decided it was time to swap storyboards for sentences. Drawn to the darker side of life, she now writes fantasy novels steeped in ghosts, folklore, and all things witchy.

Having experienced grief in her own life, Kat is drawn to stories that explore survival through darkness, finding meaning in monsters and writing for those who have ever felt haunted by loss. She believes fantasy and horror can offer not just escape, but a way to endure and heal.

A lifelong horror fan, she can often be found exploring haunted landmarks and eerie historical sites, watching creepy films, or practicing tarot. When taking a break from the darkness, she spends time with her husband, two boys, one fat cat, and one skinny cat at their home in beautiful Kent.
